For local service businesses tired of annual contracts

Review requests and review replies, without the 12-month contract

After each job, Plainstar sends your customer one short request with a direct link to your Google review form. When a review comes in, an AI drafts a reply in your voice and nothing is posted until you approve it. Month to month from $29, and you can cancel in a click.

The problem

Review software shouldn't need a lawyer to cancel

  1. Popular review platforms are sold on 12-month contracts that renew automatically.

  2. Cancelling can mean a notice window of one to three months before the renewal date.

  3. Many owners only need two things, a review link and replies to reviews, but pay for a whole suite.

  4. Happy customers say "I'll do it tonight" and then forget, while replying to every review eats your evenings.

How it works

  1. Add customers after each job

Forward a job email, upload a list, or connect your job software. Each customer gets one request and one reminder, then we stop.

  2. Every customer gets the same ask

A short message with a direct link to your Google review form. We never screen customers first or offer rewards for reviews.

  3. Approve your replies

Each new review gets a drafted reply by email or text. Approve it, edit it, or write your own.

What you get

Month to month

No annual contract, no notice period. Cancel from your account in one click and you won't be billed again.

Review requests by email

Sent from your business name, timed a couple of hours after the job, with a single reminder.

Tap-to-text from your phone

Get a ready-made text with your review link that you or your tech can send from your own phone in one tap.

Replies drafted in your voice

Drafts follow your tone and mention the job when the review does. Negative reviews always wait for you.

A plain monthly summary

Requests sent, reviews received, replies posted, and themes customers mention, in one short email.

Follows the review rules

No gating, no incentives, no fake reviews. Built around Google's review policy and the FTC's rule on consumer reviews.

Questions

Is Plainstar available now?

Not yet. We're building it now. Join early access and we'll email you when it's ready, with your founding price locked in.

Will I be charged if I join?

No. Joining is free and doesn't commit you to anything.

Is there a contract?

No. Every plan is month to month. Cancel from your account at any time and you won't be billed again.

Will this get me more 5-star reviews?

We can't promise any number or rating. Plainstar makes sure every customer is asked at a good moment with a link that's easy to use. What they write is up to them.

Do you filter out unhappy customers before asking?

No. That practice, called review gating, breaks Google's policy and can break the FTC's rule on consumer reviews. Everyone gets the same request. We also never offer rewards for reviews or write reviews.

Why do automatic texts take time to set up?

US carriers require every business that sends automated texts to be registered first. We file the registration for you, and approval usually takes days to a few weeks. Until then, email requests and tap-to-text from your own phone work right away.

Are review replies written by AI?

Yes. An AI drafts each reply and you approve it before it's posted. Replies to negative reviews are never posted without you.

Who is it for?

Owner-run local service businesses in the US, such as HVAC, plumbing, cleaning, auto repair, landscaping and salons. It isn't suited to healthcare practices that handle patient information.
